Kristen Noel Kristy Swanson (born Kristen Noel Swanson) is an American actor, who gained notoriety as the character Buffy Summers. Her other parts include Rebecca Becky Granger, in the telefilm Nightingales & the short lived NBC show with the same title; Erica Paget, as Early Edition on CBS and Marlowe Viccellio as Psych. Swanson is from California. The actress began to develop an interest in acting. She started her career acting in commercials as an actress. The first time she appeared on television was an NBCs It's Your Move sitcom show that aired in 1984. The big screen debut was just two years later in romance drama Pretty in Pink. Swan was known for her lisp of blonde and the breathless sound of her voice. Recently, she's shifted from main roles to side ones. Swan was awarded an award called the Young Artist Award in 1990 as the most promising acting talent in a horror or mystery film for Flowers in the Attic.
